What matters should be paid attention to in stamping die processing?

The stamping die processing needs to pay attention to related matters in many links to ensure the quality and performance of the die. The following are some main aspects:

Design link

Product analysis: fully understand the shape, size, precision requirements, production batch and other factors of stamping parts, so as to design the die structure reasonably. For parts with high precision requirements, the die structure with good precision retention should be adopted.

Rationality of structure: Ensure that the die structure is simple and reliable, which is convenient for processing, assembly and maintenance. At the same time, we should consider the strength and rigidity of the die and the rationality of unloading and ejecting mechanisms to avoid problems such as stress concentration or interference of parts.

Material selection

Performance matching: according to the material, thickness and production batch of stamping parts, choose the appropriate die material. For large-scale molds, high-performance mold steel such as Cr12MoV can be selected to ensure the wear resistance and life of the mold.

Quality inspection: conduct strict quality inspection on purchased mold materials, including hardness, structure and dimensional accuracy, to prevent unqualified materials from entering the processing link.

workpiece process

Programming and process planning: according to the mold design drawings, make a reasonable processing route and NC processing program. When programming, we should pay attention to the optimization of tool path to avoid over-cutting and under-cutting, and at the same time, we should consider machining efficiency and surface quality.

Tool selection and management: according to different processing procedures and material characteristics, choose appropriate tools, such as milling cutter, drill bit, boring cutter, etc., and pay attention to the wear of tools, and replace or sharpen them in time to ensure machining accuracy and surface quality.

Machining accuracy control: strictly control the accuracy of each machining process, including dimensional accuracy, shape and position tolerance, etc. For example, when milling the mold cavity, it is necessary to control the milling depth and flatness to ensure that the cavity size meets the design requirements.

Heat treatment and surface treatment: For the mold parts that need heat treatment, we should strictly follow the requirements of heat treatment process, and control the parameters such as heating speed, holding time and cooling speed to obtain good structure and performance. For surface treatment such as nitriding and hard chromium plating, attention should be paid to the thickness and uniformity of the treated layer to improve the wear resistance, corrosion resistance and demoulding performance of the mold.

Assembly and debugging

Cleaning and inspection of parts: Before assembly, clean the mold parts to remove impurities such as oil stain and iron filings remaining in the processing, and conduct a comprehensive inspection of the parts to ensure that the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the parts meet the requirements.

Assembly accuracy control: according to the requirements of assembly process, the mold is assembled to ensure the accurate assembly position and uniform clearance of each part. For example, the gap between punch and die should be uniform to ensure the quality of stamping parts.

Debugging and optimization: after the assembly is completed, debug the die, and check the working state of the die and the quality of stamping parts through trial punching. According to the trial punching results, the die is adjusted and optimized, such as adjusting the discharging force and correcting the gap between convex and concave dies, until the die can stably produce qualified stamping parts.
